Ode to the Everlasting God

Contributed by Mad-Mancunian on Saturday, 1st February 2003 @ 07:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

O Everlasting God of all-
Thou art the Scrimitar at my side
Thou lendeth wings of flight to me-
Let me hold on to my resolve
Even if Hell's Gates release
Shades from the twisting labyrinth of Time.

O Everlasting God of all-
Keep our hearts safe
And our minds pure
Of what evil may come
From this mortal fantasy of flesh.

O Everlasting God of all-
Rock of Ages, let me cleave to thee!
And better heart and life be split from me
Than I to leave thy side,
O Everlasting God of all!

it's always better to live a single day in holiness than to live forever in evil.
