My New Day
From the ashes of my tarnished childhood I rise.
Like a pheonix from the flames.
I soar over past hurts and pains
and find new meaning in my life.
My heart starts to thaw
after the long winter of my soul
and my fists unclech to form friendly greetings,
I mourn the loss of my childhood innocence
the way you would mourn a wasted day -
sadly but with the hope of better things to come.
Gone are the days of anger
and of hatred.
Gone are the moments of suffering
and isolation.
Here are the days of joy
and of peace.
Arrived are the hours of laughter
and love.
I feel what it is like to be loved.
I smile.
My new day has dawned.

my exact feelings- they dont always stay for me though, ive had a few 'anew' feelings like this- and its great huh? after such trauma, that pretty much started from the womb, you know?
