Real Life, not a Fairytale

There's no once upon a time in this love,
I cant rub a lamp and get what I dream of,
no big blue friend for me to grant not one wish
no magic carpet ride , and no perfect first kiss...
no Whole New World to leave this one for,
no going back in time to make my life something more...
So this is my reality not a bed time story,
and real life is all I get, no happy ever after for me...

My daddy's not a king,so I don't get the castle
I'm not drawn to perfection, and every day's a hastle,
if I had to live in the sea, I know I'd be stuck there
even without my voice I still won't go anywhere...
no sweet song in the blue lagoon,
no talking sea of friends at my wedding by the moon...

Seven little men cant give me what I need,
and I won't get a bean stalk from a tiny little seed...
No princes on white horses to make me their wife,
this is no fairytale hunny this is real life...
I wont sleep for a decade and wake up to a kiss,
but we still tell these stories to little girls ...what good is this?

poor little darlings will spend their whole life dreaming,
while some evil villain is hiding somewhere scheming,
they may find love and happiness somewhere in their time,
but it probably isn't written somewhere in a silly little nursery rhyme...
So once upon a time doesn't really exist...
But happily ever afters...who can resist ??

Gosh, I love this. I think this is one of those poems half of the people in the world would read and nod along, too. I guess some people would kind of like to scream it, too.

I think you need some punctuation in here, which would make the poem look nicer, and make it eaisier to read.

I do love the content, however. The fairytale thing is something I think about a lot.

I do think we all need the dreams, and they they are good for little girls, but I understand your view.
