The Rain

Contributed by Garret on Tuesday, 28th March 2006 @ 01:38:41 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I walk down the street
And see you sitting on the sidewalk.
You are huddled near a wall
Seeking shelter from the rain,
But it’s the rain inside,
That will not go away.
You are hurt and alone,
And unsure of why,
Why no one understands.
Then you look up at me.
And as our eyes meet,
I see the constant tears
Rolling down your face.
And I immediately understand.
But as I try to walk to you,
You get further away,
Until I say that I understand.
That I want to help,
Then you disappear.
Forever nothing more,
Than a figment of my imagination.
And I too am alone now.
Seeking shelter from the rain,
On the sidewalk.
But it’s always raining inside,
And it will not stop.
Hurt and alone.
Destined to be forever.

This conjured up some great images in my mind I could see and feel the sadness in this piece.

Hi!
I really, really enjoyed this poem. A beautiful write. I felt like I was inside of this, going through what was happening. CrZy I know but, true. I've more often than less often felt this way. The pain will not stop or go away. I've tried hard to get rid of it, not sure when the freedom will enter. Anyways enough rambling on my half. Keep Writing.

Great write, I don't know why but this poem, just as the first one i commented on reminds me of a song.

"On a perfect day I know that i can count on you
When that's not possible, tell me can you weather the storm
Cause i need somebody
who will stand by me
through the good times
and bad times she will always
be right there for me"

Quote from " Can you stand the rain " by Boys to Men
