Burn divine wisdom!
Embrace me with your sacred warmth,
I am at the center of a gorgeous universe,
Where there is one reality - or god,
Light the lantern, lead the way!
Show me my passage to destiny,
Kill the evil of speculation,
Dissolve, abolish implication,
Just one last time tear down,
All the road signs that read 'Re-treat',
We’ve been fettered long by knotted tentacles,
Of media broadcasts and radio streams,
A congregation convenes,
At the end of each day,
Of obtuse zombies,
Mesmerized by the cathode ray display,
Of glorified, glamorized warfare,
Porn for the soul 24/7,
365 days, 365 ways,
To be who you are NOT to be,
Between big tits and tall men,
Analysts with great acumen,
Talk about our so-called world
After the Weather,
Reporting live is some foul network,
Of birds of a feather,
That flock together in the enclosures of the UN,
Contesting for world peace,
As they fleece us out of resources,
To develop some misguided missiles,
Bored to death with this witless *****,
I left…between my parochial miseries,
Leaving behind the bleeding stump of a tree,
Lost amidst my languid thoughts,
Calling out to Socrates,
Am I to be or not to be?
When did I belittle my self;
To delectable degeneracys?
When did truth shrink?
To three hour documentaries?
My rear end increases in size
As my hand reaches out for the fries,
Louder get Sharon Stone’s cries,
And my eyes get biddy,
As Basic Instinct comes to an end,
Feeling suspended, the joy of weightlessness,
Rules my head,
Feeling dead….yes I’m high on dope,
It gives me hope to distinguish
Between my world and the idiot box,
As an infomercial promoting liposuction,
Flashes on to the screen,
Images of who I am and what I really want to be,
Come to a reluctant embrace,
Two anomalies come face to face,
I suck harder at my cigarette,
Thinking ‘Burn divine wisdom!’
And the alacrity to kiss life,
Finally extinguishes….
As the infomercial finishes.

This is really different and I enjoyed the cynicism in it. ;-) |

There are so many people who'll never read this poem. They will be the unlucky ones. Truly excellent.
Thanks for making me feel lucky. |
