Always In My Heart

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 27th March 2006 @ 08:24:25 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Dad you'll always rest in my heart,
Even through we're heavens apart,
You're with the angels up in the sky,
I can't bring myself to bid you goodbye.

Your laughter and your love,
Wrap around like a hand and glove,
There's so many things that I will miss,
The way you smiled, your fatherly kiss.

Your smile could light the darkest of rooms,
Your heart and soul were in full bloom,
I never thought this day would come,
No my life is it holds no fun.

I can feel you still holding my hand,
I will walk with you across the furthest of lands,
Sorrow cascades over my soul,
No words that are spoken can ever console.

The heartache of losing a dad like you,
Makes me feel empty and makes me feel blue,
I can't believe I will never see you again,
I can feel my world collapsing from all this pain.

You meant the world to me and more,
Your passing has rocked me to my core,
I just want to wake up from this nightmare,
I'm not willing to accept that you'll never be there.

Pixie Im so very sorry for your loss. This is a beautiful poem that brought tears to my eyes.
I understand your process of grief and your emotional pain, just lost my mother in law.
May you days be filled with precious memories of the sting of your loss be lessoned with time. I know this is a hard time for you.My thought and prayers go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow.
You will see him again.........

We never expect that one day our nearest and dearest will no longer be with us.It happens to us all yet the shock is still unbearable.
I hope that soon the pain will ease but not the memories of all those happier moments you shared over the years
Sorry for your loss

Steve

Oh Krissie, honey, I am so sorry to hear about this loss. The loss of parents is a deep loss and it does take some time to accept it. My Dad has been gone some 20 yrs + but I still miss him every day and think of him daily. Blessings and strength to you and I am here for you if you need me.

Love,
Rita

I am sorry to hear of your painful loss.

This poem really touched me as I lost my Dad too, when I was only eight years old. I feel I can relate to this. It brought tears to my eyes.

It is also very well written. I commend you on your courage and having the strength to write such a wonderful dedication. It is inspiring.

Take care,

Tim

Oh Pix, please except my deepest sympathy. As others have said, I too can relate to this loss. I lost my father when I was 9 and my mother at 18. I'm 41 and I still miss my mom everyday. You will forever have him in your heart Pix, that will never leave. When you leave this earth some day, you shall see him again. Until then live life to the fullest knowing he is an angel at your side. Peace and love to you, Laura

I am really sorry about the loss of your father. That is very sad to hear.. In this poem it was clear and present that you loved him very dearly and very much and that is the best relationship that a daughter and father can have. I wish that i could have had that relationship with mine.. This was a beautifully sad poem..

take care
*hugs*

Pixie, I'm sorry for your loss as this heart felt poem pays tribute to the special bond you had with your father. As your poem so eloquently expressed, he will be eternally missed.

Blessings to you for your tragic loss, but you will have him foever in your heart.

Peace, Will
