This Story Ends

Topic: LostLove

This story ends….
And dare I dream so sweet,
A dream so deep,
Of the very first man I loved,
He sent me away,
Driving back to an empty dorm,
And empty heart.
I gave him back the CD he’d made,
And the stuffed animal he bought.
But never did he leave me in my heart,
He haunted my dreams,
And visions of him I saw,
In the night sky,
And in the birds lonely song.
I loved him so much,
And love him still today,
He would kiss my hand,
And open the car door,
He respected me and guided me,
Never did he hate my flaws, though many.
But I hope he knows,
That where ever he goes,
He will always have a home in my heart.
Its not fair that I loved him so much,
To not be able to be with him in the end.
After many long months of hearing nothing from him,
A letter was sent,
A letter that explained all of himself.
So now its ok that I am happy for the time we did have,
Now its ok that I held him so long,
Because he once loved me too,
But now, I mean, I mean now,
That chapter has closed,
And we can “just be friends.”
So that is how this story ends….

The detail of what happened really demonstrates that you have not forgotten this person. Maybe if you can move out of the past and into the present you won't feel so sad.
