A New Chapter

Contributed by TheKid on Saturday, 25th March 2006 @ 02:00:14 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

My fears fade into the distance of my mind
Romantic experimentation right before your precious eyes
Hopefully my potential charm emerges through the cobwebs
And my usual dose of stupidity won’t spell demise

I open the gates that had sheltered my courage
I have torn up all the pages
Search for a red pen
And ink a new chapter that I will remember for all the ages

As I round your corner
Nervousness plagues the sun that has faded into the night
I gently knock the wooden door
The door creeps open to my delight

I say "How are you feeling on this warm summer night?"
There are numerous things I need to set free
And she will say that she is feeling just fine
One... Two... Three

Our lips slowly collide
My fingers run through her hair
And she will say "Would you like to come in"
"That would be great" I shall declare

This luck cannot continue I thought to myself
The lights dim and we are elated
And she will say "I have been waiting for this moment for the longest time"
And the chapter to our new book is created

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
