Addicted to Addictions
Am I?
Am I truly going from one addiction
to another.
They can take my razor
But they cant make me eat;
Even if they do
What is there I can try?
I will lie
“Yes mom,
I ate my full dinner.”
Or just eat it
Then excuse myself,
“Ive got to use the restroom.
Am I truly addicted to addiction
Will my life just be this way?
Addicted to any
Every addiction to come my way.
Can I fight it on my own?
Stop it all
Before it stops me.
I stand here quivering
In fear that it will
Always take over my life
Wondering if this addiction filled life
Is worth living at times.

I really like the rhyme scheme, it sounds like a dark Shell Silverstein. With all those addictions...perhaps you should get tested for depression or anxiety. Well, I wish you the best of luck on "quitting"!

Addictions can lead to a lot of suffering, but if the addiction can last long enough, maybe it will to an early exit.
