You ask me what is running through my mind
When I don't have much to say on the phone.
You must have stopped to tie your shoes,
If you don't know the answer to that one.
You've run a track into my mind,
I can sense you where you're not.
Your face is in my eyelids,
Your fragrance is in my nose,
The taste of your mouth is on my lips,
The places we touch when I hold you
Ache without your touch.
You've turned my mind to a sandy beach,
Run rough with your footprints.
Come with me and rest a while.
Let me see that wonderous smile.
Then, when you must leave again,
You can run faster through my mind.
