A child grew up
In the sense that she aged
Her heart stood still
And her soul remained caged
Her number in years
Creeped up the scale
But the spirit inside her
Still tiny and frail
She's in a world which
You might not know
And that's where she resides
Unable to grow
It's a space too small
For her to spread her wings
There's no beautiful music
No reason to sing
Though her ears long
To hear something sweet
And her body aches
To feel someone's heat
There's no visitors here
And why would they come?
Once you arrive
You might never get home
Poor little thing
She can't ever escape
But at least she's accepted
Her miserable fate
For all time she'll reign
She's named herself queen
Of her personal hell...

| This is a good poem. I can relate to this in many ways. It is sad though to lose faith and hope in the future. When that happens bad things start to happen to us on the inside and out. 5 stars for a great write. |

| wow..this is powerful. you have given the space a name...now it is the space between. this is amazing..i think this expresses what so many ppl feel so well....though this is very hard to express...well done. thank you...and most importantly, thank you for giving this place a name.... |
