Christian Hypocrite

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Thursday, 23rd March 2006 @ 04:15:25 PM in AEST
Topic: sarcasticpoetry

I've grown weary....so damn weary
of your self-proclaimed belief
in one god almighty

You try forcing it in my face
(you're a disgrace)
Down my pharynx
through my larynx
your twisted views
I can't begin to imagine
doing what you do

You speak one way
but then act another
Born again Christian
you claim to be...
but you're damaging
my tympanic membranes
with all your
shouting
and screaming
and bellowing at me

What you gives you the right
do you think
to lecture me
of SIN?
Care to define that word
for little ole' me?
I doubt you know
or understand the definition,
because if you did...
you'd see
you are
what you claim
I'm to be.

You shout out god's name at me
again and again and....
You christian hypocrite
cruelty flows
from your every pore
You can't even live
by your own
ten commandments
You make religion a joke

Your judgements
begrudgements.
Blinded from the glare
of your golden crucifix
Preaching
Reaching for your fix
Syringe full.
Plunger at the ready.
Inject.
Don't that feel good now?
You feel sated?

Christian Hypocrite
Excuse me while I spit.

I am a christian and I enjoyed that as it came straight from the heart. Love is what christianity is all about and living it not preaching it. We show others through actions not words as actions speak louder. I hope you arent too bitter as if we held against every one that did us wrong we would grow into very horrible old people. Thanks so much for that touching poem it was truely a great write. love jennyx

I so agree, Laura. I think Chief Tecumseh said it best ;

"Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view and demand that they respect yours. "

What can I say . . .

It is sad when people of faith cause the rejection of it.

Your poem is a model of a scripture I read in the bible. The Lord's name is cursed by the unbelievers because of those who believe. Thank you for not condemning all of us for the actions of those who hurt you.

Wow Laura, you said what I wished I had!
They are know n as hypocrites or apostates today! What right do they have to judge you anyway..........the first thing you learn when you read God's Word.........There is only One God, One Judge, and those that judge others are not True Believers, but have made themselves Self-Righteous! Only God himself can proclaim if we are righteous (meaning one that tries to live within the guidelines of God's Word!"
Great Poem..........hope it hits home!
Keep up the Great work Laura
Warm love

excellent conceptual poem laura =] i did think some of your rhymes were a bit strange and out there, but hey they are original and its always nice to learn a few new words. excellent last paragraph also. well ive been in these shoes of yours, and with that member (if im thinking of the right one), and i took it a step further of just hating the religion. of course this was years of build up. its always nice to have human spitoons though. =]

Woops...I hope it wasn't ME!!! I believe in the ten commandments but have no desire to ...push my beliefs....onto anyone.

So good on you for releasing the tension, but I would never want you to get upset.
You are a wonderful poet so remember that ...okay?

Hi Laura,

No one appreciates self-righteous hypocracy, or being preached to in a condencending manner. So we need to respect our individual differences, along with treating someone's beliefs with dignity. Being a Christian is not license to chastice anyone.

Laura, I'm sorry you had such an unpleasant experience my friend.

*stands up and applauds*

Powerful, Laura and very well written.

I love the way you dished it out here.

Jesus does speak of the hypocrites in the Bible. I don't know it well enough to quote. I know there are some in Matthew. I do know all through out his teachings he did not want anyone "forcing it down anyone's throat" as if to yell so loud you turn the other person's head away from God. I remember reading it when at a time in my life a certain person (not the one you're writing about) was calling me "evil and demonic". I opened the Bible and it just fell right to the page where I needed to read... that this person was wrong in what he was doing to me and the way he was treating me....his opinion of me, his judgment of me, and how he turned the members of his "church" against me without them even knowing me.

Great poem.

Thank you,

Tim

Ne'r true a word spoken!

I cannot abide judgemental people, it says somwhere in the Bible summat about judging unless you be judged yourself.

I think some so called christians were probably bunking off down the local bowling alley when that bit was read out in sunday school!

Great stuff Laura stick it to 'em girl!

For me, I am a true Christian, not a religion, I have faith in the Lord. My inspiration comes from Him, so my poems are directed to Him, and I share them to all. I do understand what you are saying. To be a true Christian, you must walk in His Light. Since we are all sinners, it takes a lot to do that, and not trip. I practice my faith each day, and I pray that I never hurt any one of His children. You are much loved, keep writing your poems from you heart, that is where poems are created.

Love and hugs,

RaquelLeah

Unfortunatly this is exactly what makes folks run from church, myself included. The way I see it if I keep my soul clean I don't have time to critasize others. Oh I'm definently into God but don't do religion. Some people point out what they think is wrong from others just have to do it to feel good about themself which is one deadly sin.
The bible plainly tells us to Judge not lest we be judged.
Good writing as always, girlfriend.
luv, huggs,
emy
Oh I'm not intentionally not reading writes. I've been out of town with my youngest daughter waiting for our little emylee Sky to be born. If she isn't here by her next Dr. visit on this comming Tuesday her Dr. is gonna induce labor.
I feel honered that my last grand child will be named after me. She has two step daughters that will make me grandma after they are older.

You are sure one angry person there, but friend, bible does say a few words about the hypocrites who shall come in the name of the “Lord” but it is not fare to evaluate every Christian to be a hypocrite. But sure I must say good powerful arrangement of words. Well done, keep the awakening work going.

Hey Laura.

You know what I love about you? You are so honest and so very real. It's wonderful.

I must say, I agree with the points you are making. I, myself, am a Christian. I believe in God, and I do not shove it down peoples throats. I wouldn't dream of it. I know I hate it when people shove their beliefs at me, I would never do it so someone else. Some people just give the rest of us a bad name.

I too, have experienced this firsthand. I recently started going back to church, after 8 years of living with a lost faith. I went to a new church and found I that was judged unfairly. The second time I went was the worst, I was ignored and not spoken to, until I was lectured. I have not been back since.

I like this write very much. Though I believe that while some Christians do this, it is present in other religions, too.

Much love to you, my friend.
Wonderful write,

*hugs tons*
Phil xxx

Yeah Laura! Go, you Goddess. I'm sick to death of the god-bothers. Every point of view and argument is referenced to Christ/God/ Forgiveness. its really embarrassing to true Christians - thanks Isis I'm a born again (pagan)lol Sometimes I want to bring back the lions, but I think there's a law against that now. Roll me a doobie from the good book and crack open the sacramental wine, and lets stop talking about the Big Guy and his one true one. Ha!
