MY JOURNEY WITH THE MAN FROM GALILEE

Contributed by funnyface on Thursday, 23rd March 2006 @ 01:29:51 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

MY HEART IS FULL OF PEACE AND JOY
I WISH THE WORLD COULD SEE...
IT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY THE MAN
THAT WALKED IN GALILEE

HE HUNG UPON THE CRUEL WORLD TREE
TO SAVE US FROM OUR SINS
HE STANDS AND KNOCKS ON YOUR HEARTS DOOR
OH!! PLEASE JUST LET HIM IN

AS I TRAVEL DOWN LIFE'S HIGHWAY , ON THIS JOURNEY WITH MY LORD
I PUT ON ALL MY ARMOR AND IN MY HAND I HAVE HIS SWORD
AS I WALK AND TALK WITH JESUS ON THIS PATH SO NARROW AND STRAIGHT
MY FINAL DESTINATION IS TO WALK THROUGH HEAVEN'S GATE

THIS TRIP THAT I AM TAKING, I NEVER WALK ALONE
I HAVE HIS WORD TO GUIDE ME TO KEEP ME SAFE AND STRONG
I KEEP MY EYES ON JESUS, HE LIGHTS THE PATH FOR ME
AND WHEN I STUMBLE ON MY WAY , I GET DOWN ON MY KNEES

I PRAY FOR STRENGHT TO OVERCOME OLE SATAN'S EVIL SNARES
I CAST MY BURDENS ON THE LORD, HE KNOWS MY EVERY CARE
WITH LOVING ARMS HE WRAPS ME UP, WITH HIS TENDER LOVE AND GRACE
WITH NAIL SCARED HANDS HE WIPES AWAY THE TEARS UPON MY FACE

HE LEADS THE WAY BACK TO THE PATH, THAT WASN'T FAR BEHIND
HE NEVER GRUMBLES OR COMPLAINS, HIS WORDS ARE SOFT AND KIND
HE TAKES ME DOWN THE STREET HE WALKED THE DAY HE DIED FOR ME
TO SHOW ME WHERE TO MEET HIM, IT'S THE PLACE CALLED CALVARY

AND WHEN I STUMBLE, OR EVEN FALL, OR DON'T DO WHAT I SHOULD
I SEE THE STREET MY JESUS WALKED, AND PAVED WITH HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD
ONE STEP IS ALL THAT'S NEEDED , TO GET TO WHERE I SHOULD BE
AND JUST AS HE HAD PROMISED, HE MEETS ME AT CALVARY

THE DAY I MET HIM, I HOPE YOU SEE IN THE STORY I HAVE TOLD
HIS LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL AND NEVER WAXES COLD
THE DAY WE MET I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS MAN FROM GALILEE
HE HOLDS MY HAND AND WALKS WITH ME EVERY TRIP TO CALVARY

SOMEDAY I'M GOING TO SEE HIM AND LOOK UPON HIS FACE
AND PRAISE HIM FOR EACH DROP OF BLOOD HE SHED THERE IN MY PLACE
SO ON THIS JOURNEY I AM TAKING, WON'T YOU COME ALONG WITH ME
AND LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO THIS MAN FROM GALILEE!!!!!!

This and Elizabeth_Dandy's judas iscariot are two of the best religious poems I have read in a long long time on this site.

Excellent rythmn and rhyme and of course a great message.

He gives us the strength to carry our own cross, and when we fall, He is there to pick the cross up and carry it for us while carring us too.. I love Him and you poem is a beautiful one... as beautiful as He is.
