The Car Ride

We listened to hard rock,
For half an hour without any talk,
Your past you showed me,
And I spoke of mine to see,
Back, I leaned the set,
Took of my shoes and put up my feet,
I saw you glance my way and smile,
And we just drove for a long while,
Much did we say,
I wish I could stay,
In the car forever,
To go back to my demons never,
Can you fix me I thought?
Do you think I’m what you’ve sought?
I’ve never felt more safe as I did then,
I can’t wait for us to drive once again,
Far away from all the pain and sorrow,
So I ask you, can we go for a ride tomorrow?
