Tonight We Laughed

Contributed by felicitous on Thursday, 23rd March 2006 @ 05:05:03 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

tonight we laughed
again
and with each smothered giggle
my heart broke that little bit more
completely

your voice bouncing with unrestrained joy
the same voice that soothed my insecurity
the same voice that caressed my mind
the same voice that lifted me beyond reality
and took me to the breadths of eternity with sighs
of lovers

your eyes creasing with light and life
the same eyes that radiated my sunshine
the same eyes that swallowed my questions
the same eyes that portrayed an infinite depth
as we lost ourselves in the pure oblivious optical ocean
of lovers

your lips twitching with appreciative humour
the same lips i memorised with my fingers
the same lips that electrified my senses
the same lips that nestled tenderly behind my ear
and murmured the comforting nothings
of lovers

ex-lovers...

memories pierce the already crushed shards of my mind
i crave the day when my heart has found peace enough
to allow myself to revisit our time of glory
but until that day of soulful healing
promise me
that you will not stop
laughing

This poem conveys how I feel whenever I talk to or think about my ex girlfriend I find it very hard just having small talk with her compared to what we used to have. Congratulations on such a good piece of work!
