A Moonlit Dance

As the casket is lowered into the ground
And the mourning crowd slowly dies away.
Shadows creep from depths deep,
Invisible without the light of day.
The sun begins to retire
From the day not quite yet passed.
The peace and calm currently in the graveyard
Is surely not going to last.
As darkness breaks through eventually
And brings the yard into night.
Peeking through dark grey clouds
Is a pale beam of beautiful moonlight.
With the signal the ghosts awaken
Accompanied by ghouls and zombies galore.
They’re not quite ready to rest in peace
But are not capable to live any more.
The king and queen are out the front
Addressing faithful subjects and servants
An eiry tune fills the air
And they all begin to dance
All partnered up together
Under half hidden light.
And never again will be witnessed
Such a beautiful fright.
