Mute

Topic: oops

3-22-2006

Even though she didn’t talk,
You still felt a need to mock,
Trip her to the ground,
All the kids laughing around.

She held her books close,
Day dreamed of being a ghost,
Held her head high,
Going to prove she won’t cry.

They put a fake snake in her locker,
Threw much while she played soccer,
Depantsed her in the halls
To them she was nothing at all.

Prank calling her house,
Last Tuesday gave her a mouse,
Called her mean names,
Beat her if their team lost a game.

She’s in a tangle of emotions,
She wants to drink poison from the ocean,
Hopes they feel the stings of remorse,
In a sudden heated force.

She stayed silent until tonight,
Mute she’ll always be,
There wasn’t fear in her sight,
In dawns light you will find,
The girl you tortured,
Hanging behind in the basketball court.

:P It sounds sorta like me, at school. I fought back after a while though, I didn't give up.

Children can be the cruelest people in the world, and the bullying that goes on in school these days is truly horrifying. I honestly don't understand how someone can go out of their way to make someones life that horrible, just because they feel like it.

Unfortunatly this story will probably hit a lot of people in bad ways, I know many here were bullied at school, and some that still are.

The ending of this is very sad, but I know so many can relate to it. It's so easy to give up.

Great write, with a clear message. I sure hope someone reads it and realizes what they are doing to people. It would be nice to see these sort of poems make a difference.

This really captured me
