A Chance, A Glance, A Glimpse

I've been waiting for so long
And now I finally have my chance
To sit back and take the time
To give my world a glance
I'm hoping for a glimpse of things to come
Streets filled with people
Empty of the snow that filled them last night
The day takes turns with the night
But they never play fair when the day is always right
Low clouds
I can almost touch them
But as usual I fall short
The metaphor I've been looking for
The future is in my sight
The buildings seem to be growing
Maybe I'm getting smaller
Babies in strollers
Mothers who think they are all-knowing
Watch your head
You never know when the world will come crashing down on you

Amen to that. Look ahead, but keep your wits sharp. A couple lines really stood out in this one - I like your turn of phrase.
