W H Y ?.
The pain and the hurt of my troubled mind
All I wanted was help, It was too hard to find..
I feel angry and hurt and ever so sad
Why ? did they have to treat me so bad
The incompetent way they looked after me,
Should be out in the open for all to see.
Communication With Staff Was ever so poor.
I just could not wait to get out of the door.
The taboo of my illness, it just is not fair,
We should be treated as equals with a little more care.
There should be no stigma to my illness you see,
I demand NO excuses for what happened to me.
Dougnut.
P.S I finally got 14 changes made to the ward system after a long hard struggle
my complaint was withheld and I got a full written apology from the chief exacative.
Now all psychiatric staff are trained in diabetic care. We must fight discrimination of all types.

Good for you Doug! For standing your ground and for this poem. Sounds like you had a really hard time of it I'm glad you finally got heard, and the apology you deserved.
This is a well written poem, thank you for sharing.

Oh what suffering you had to go through Dough!
Whatever sufferihng we have to go throughy is redemptive.
We are just not meant to see the efficacy of redemptive suffering.
Be blessed abundantly and may your pain be joined with the pain of the Redeemer.
Love and peace
Elizabeth
