The Calling.

There are many paths, in our lifetime
Each giving us the oppurtunity for something new, something outstanding
Yet, the price of taking those paths can be that of nothing
You have the option of a future, of a life, of happiness & of brilliance
Lest, you take that away from yourself.
Lest, you let others take that away..
Might that be the biggest mistake you endure
For we all have the oppurtunity to shine
To be happy, to be comfortable
Though, we all have the oppurtunity to hurt, to fail, and to fall.
But, it is a choice that only you can make.
As, appearing so, by nature, one would take the easier path.
Though, the easier path often leads to devastation
Thus, by nature, are we set to destroy? Devour? Devastate & decompose, ourselves?
And is it possible that by heart
One would seek out the overgrown path through this forest of life
& wage on within that which is harder to tread
Knowing, that it would lead to a future, a hope, & a joy of which we all, by nature, desire?
So, it is by nature, that we desire to be compelled, enthralled & enjoy what we are given
Yet, it is by nature that we are driven down a road set to destuct at any given moment.
Though..
By nature, we are set to choose.
By nature, we are given the intelligence, the heart, and the will to do what is right, & find that happiness within.
And it is in the heart, that we are brilliant
For as instinct would lead to a vulgar end
The instinct, and the nature of choice, gives us the power to avoid that path.
It is we, that makes the oppurtunity of wellbeing available to ourselves.
& it is we, that lets it slip away from ourselves.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
