The Candle

LoveRemembered

My continuous stare
At the etched silver
Remember what was never there
Just a dusting enclosure
Burning flames we couldn't share
Sparkling imitation
To dazzle the sea's abyss
Remembering requires no invitation
Just mirror to mirror reflections
Of the deepest blue with no limitations
The Silent Ocean
Not a whisper of the whirlpool
A swiftly turning, relieving motion
Flushing away this heartache
With this ancient salt water potion
Breathe in the morning salt
Warm my blood and revive the flow
Remembrance caused this to be my fault
Close these burning eyes
And wish for the crashing waves to hault
Just for a moment here
Pause the birth of bubbly foam
Freeze these pains falling as tears
And give back the love that once stood
In the flame of the candle I'll treasure for years
