The reverberating echoes of a hollow life
Shatter my defenses and soak into my soul
The venom of meaningless mortality poisons
My dreams as I relinquish control
Death does not cause me to tremble,
but strengthens the chains which
bind and shackle me to the ticking
of a clock I cannot wind
Trapped in a hourglass as grain by grain
moment by moment my memories fall intertwined
Continually they pour
As I slip into insanity without remedy
My mortality void of humanity
Crawling through a life of a dual reality
I am drained of all vitality
and shall exist no more

a detailed piece.
Yes...i have been within this situation too many times.
it is one of the worst circumstances. im sorry you have to endure it.
None the less, this piece is awe-inspiring.

| I think we all feel trapped in the darkness of modern life.... its hard to escape the shallow walls of materialism that surround us. This is a beautiful poem and the message behind it is even more inspirational. |
