oops
|
they tell me- girl!--you need to eat,
its my business,
why do they care?
people are always living up to what others want, to others' expectations
I may be thin, but I am not unhealthy,
I am what I am,
I choose to be me
why do they care?
I can't do a lot of things but-heh--***** me off, and see what happens
I can hold my own.. but please-- be my friend..
some make fun, some say-- you are too small, you look annorexic..
I'm not, so what? even if I am I choose to be,
I choose to be me
why do they care?
when I look at myself, I dont see skinny,
I only see myself, --and what I can become
so please look at me and do the same, I am only what I want to be..
..and I choose me

Kegso
It's not that you are skinny
it's all of them are fat
there's nothing wrong with you girl
THEY don't know where they're at
Human beings started slim
in order to survive
one thing you could never be
"fat" and stay alive
Fatties don't have half the fun
bellies bulging out
They're abnormal you are not
That's beyond all doubt

I only want to say that i did not write this poem to bash anybody, or to make others feel bad. I do not think that a person's size matters very much, a large or fat person can do the same things any other person can; it does not matter whether they are fat, skinny, tall, or short or whatever. Thank you for your time in reading my poem, please read some others. I read some of yours, and i enjoyed them, i will comment later, i think.
Oh, btw, i have a lot of friends that are larger than i am, and a lot of other friends that are the same size, or smaller than me; and i believe that we are all equals. oh and no, I am not one of those young, easily swayed, impressionable little girls. I may be young, but i do have a mind of my own that i love to use. I hear other ppls thought and opinions on a matter, then form my own thoughts and opinions. Please dont think that skinny people are better than fat ppl. I am not mad about your comment to my poem, but i do not agree with it.
peace out ~kegs |

Kegs04.....it's not so much a comment on your poem as a statement of fact.
Mind you I have no sympathy with people who make themselves a liability on the rest of us by one form of self abuse or another |

I do not understand your comment, "I have no sympathy with people who make themselves a liability on the rest of us by one form of self abuse or another" to whom are you refering? I strongly belive that your "statement of fact" is a terrible way to look out on the world. You write humorous poetry-- yes i have read some, but have not had the time to go back and comment yet-- but then you write something that is such a horrible veiw to have on the world around you; I really dont understand what you are trying to say.
When i wrote this poem I was writing to show people that size does not matter, and you wrote a comment or as you call it, a statement of fact, that completely goes against what i wrote. If you believe that then you say that is what you believe, and you should make it a poem in your own account stating that. I dont think that it belongs in a comment box for my poem. I would notmind, however, if you STATED that that is how you personally felt. I dont know if this makes any sense or not, so please let me know if it doesnt.
thanx and peace out

Kegs We are not talking about the same thing.
You are talking about people being naturally short or tall, thin or robust, I am talking about people who start off with a normal human body as you see in Aboriginese,Bushmen,Nomadic tribes etc and then by over eating, drugs, immorality and the like, become a burden to us all.
Now if you want me to ask Mick to delete my comment I'm sure , with your agreement, he will. The last thing I wanted to do was upset you, I was simply pointing out that thin was natural I thought it would cheer you up a bit |

i do not mind saying that thin is "natural." I do however, mind you saying that "they dont have half the fun" I guess it was supposed to only be for laughs, but when i first read it, it sounded rather harsh, and uncalled for. But that was before i had read your other works and gotten to know your style better. Now having read some of your poetry, and this comment, i suppose your first comment was meant in a light-hearted way. Sorry if i took it the wrong way, but i still stand by what i said. I dont believe that size matters, nor does it make anyone better than another.
Unfortunatly, it did not cheer me, it brought me down. I feel that many people have the horrid views that skinny is better than fat, i know that we started out as thin, but we are still all perfect in His eyes, as i mentioned in my note above the poem. I dont think that the comment should be deleted, what is done is done, and if that is what you believe, then so be it. That is your own deal. I wrote, you commented and we both spoke our mind. I dont believe either of us became hot-headed, or lost control of our actions, therefore I think we both meant what we wrote, and it should stay.
Thank you for your support, it is much appreciated.
