Do the Spirits Cry?

DO THE SPIRITS CRY?…(©Peter Sprenkeler)

So many sad spirits fled their bodies that day,
That horribly awesome morn…we call "Nine Eleven".
I wonder if they now soar safely up in the clouds,
Or sit comfortably with their Maker in a 'peaceful Heaven'.

But a question lies brooding…deep in my soul,
One on which I continually consider and ponder.
The 3047 spirits torn from their mangled bodies,
Do those spirits indeed cry?…I long to know and wonder.

Forcibly removed from all they held sacred and precious,
Terrorism selected them most cruelly at wanton random.
Loved-ones…careers…a future…and good health,
Life ripped from them…everything left to abandon.

Do they cry…do they grieve and suffer and mourn?
Does anger and outrage fill their days?
Or have they discovered what we cannot yet see?
Forgiveness…may be the 'fibre'…of a spirit's ways?

Yet I still wonder…and I always will,
But my opinions are still in a physical body locked.
Maybe one day when my spirit joins theirs,
I'll understand…surprises…surely there will be some shocks?

But until that day…I will think deeply on this often,
To understand a spirit's nature…I will try.
And the question will always burn in my mind,
Does a spirit…like we that that remain…grieve and mourn and cry?

yes, the spirits grieve, mourn..and cry..but if they take rebirth..after acquiring new bodies..
their souls do not retain the ..memories of past lives.. venkat
