Grief

She is a fallen bird
found frozen in the
morning. (her love)
She screamed.
She screamed
and a scream
bellowed beneath her
beneath her
(her love)
bellowed screaming
tiny, bloody hands.
Tiny, bloody hands
beneath her
screaming
and she screamed
(her love)
and the blackness came
and the white lights.
(I sat, waiting for the Dr.)
A complication, they said,
A complication.
Bloody hands beneath her.
( I imagine what it is to be a father)
A complication, I sat waiting for the Dr.
Bloody hands to feel her,
(I imagine what it is to be a father)
a fallen bird fell frozen in the morning.
A crumbled stone selling
the secret of the stars.
