WHISPERING SAND
Within the thousand winds that blow
Through out the distance Egypt land
Mysterious pyramids crumble
Beneath the desert sands
Kings and queen where laid to rest
In tombs make out of gold
In a ancient times when empires; ruled
And life it seemed so cruel
Warrior’s dressed in coat of arms
And swords made out of steel
Where wars where fought and victory’s won
Upon the bloody battle field’s
The mystery sun Gods of the universe
There wisdom words now lost
Within the crumbled pyramids
Hold their mystical secrets from the past

Not bad. I am glad that you are posting poetry on the site again. (In your poem it seems that you are hinting at a lesson taught from history and that is always good) |

I truly enjoyed this write, Dorothy. I have always been drawn by the pyramids, pharoahs, and the mysterious gods of light and darkness. There was so much evil and hardship in that time, but such mysterious beauty at the same time. We shall never know all the truths but it is wonderful to delve into a book or poem such as yours.
Hugs,
Rita |

I commented earlier on a poem that you don't read many historical writes on YPDC.
This write is very good indeed. Well done.
