At the end of the lane
Lived Molly Brown
People laughed at her
All around the town
Strange little woman
Bent and twisted
But always a smile
From sadness she resisted
When others help needed
Molly was ever present
Giving of herself
Never feeling resent
Widow Blaine needed help
Watching her children while
The widow washed and mended
Others clothing, Molly left her with a smile
When old man Blake was sick
Molly brought him soup
She read to him and pampered him
While he was trying to recoup
When shoes were needed for Dana’s kids
Molly sold her only prize-winning pig
She bought those kids shoes
And another pair the next size big
Down to under the bridge
Molly brought sandwiches
To those without food
Also coats, shirts and britches
Still some could not see
The heart as big as the earth
Always happy with her life
Filling others with mirth
Molly on a sunny day
Decided to take a walk
To the other side of town
Where the people snub and talk
As she strolled along the rich side
People laughed and mocked
But they would soon
Be surprised and shocked
For the angels came
And Molly would show
All around her body
Was a Heavenly glow
Molly was then lifted up
High into the sky
And when she came down
The people all let out a cry
For Molly was more beautiful
Then any of them has ever seen
For her outside now matched
Beauty that ever inside had been

My aunt Molly was just like this poem. I still remember her, when she spoke her false teeth clicked. My mother took care of her when she got much older, and then after Molly passed on, my mother passed on. Their are still many Molly's around, I love this poem. It is a true story as far as I am concerned.
Hugs, raquelLeah |
