The Killer
Every morning when I wake,
I look into the mirror.
What I see makes me quiver and shake,
I'm looking at a killer.
I haven't killed by knife or bow,
I damage them worse than that.
I become their son and destroy their sorrow,
And then I kill their cat.
By killing their cat I mean killing their happiness,
It's more of a metaphor sickly twisted.
It refers to me destroying their lives,
Feeling no remorse as if I wished it.
I constantly did things I knew were wrong,
Just to get attention,
I stole a few games that my friends bought along,
My crimes barely got a mention.
This was the old me that did this to everyone,
I was a demon back then, hunting for its prey,
But now I write poetry and watch anime,
It's something that tends to take all day.
