Standing in the shadows
Watching my breaking heart
Reaching out where it suits me
But held back with force
From touching
From helping
From relinquishing the pain
Alone inside my broken self
Looking out at nothingness
Feeling my swollen soul's lament
Screaming through the emptiness
Can't you hear me?
