Glance Away

Contributed by no_one on Thursday, 16th March 2006 @ 06:35:25 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

They think I’m happy, they think I’m okay. They think that because that’s the way I look everyday. I look and act like someone I’m not. They don’t see my home, my life, what I’ve got. Yes, sure. They know I’m insecure. They think that I’ll be okay somehow someway. They don’t know how bad it is to wake up everyday and be in pain. To wish you could just drift away. I wish my grandma was alive, and I wish my dad would be okay. I wish he was healthy and not on oxygen everyday. Has your dad ever been in the hospital because he couldn’t breathe, do you have any idea what it is like to be me? I pose at school, and around my friends, because if I didn’t, it would be a dead end. No body would talk to me, if they knew who I were, they would talk about me and just say “look at her” they wouldn’t like me for who I am, no one would. I would have no friends, nothing would be good. So instead, I say I’m okay and just walk away. I don’t look back, instead I glance away. And that is the way it’s going to stay.

Maybe everyone is putting up a front too. Most people do. Give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe you will be surprised at what you find. We all have our battles.

The reason people dont notice your pain, is because they are too busy dealing with their own.
Give people a chance to see the real you, don't stay alone

Love Dawny

On reading this poem I felt sadness and loneliness and also a cry for help. all i can say is you are not alone there are many people who feel like you, but we fight on because we are strong. keep writing.
