The Barren Tree

Contributed by Archie on Thursday, 16th March 2006 @ 02:54:17 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The barren tree all sparse and grey
trembles through the wintery day
It's leaves fallen, its blooms are dead
thistles are crowned around its head.

It waits tranquil in winter's gloom
like old bones within a tomb.

And then like magic comes to life
after enduring winter's strife
Green leaves form upon it's branches
signifying change in stances

Spring rebirths from mother earth
From dark and dank comes again sweet mirrth
The barren tree is green again
amidst its brethern and it's kin.

Note: There is more going on in this poem than there is said. At another time i may explain it.

I've always had a 'thing' for a dry branch (as one of my older poems show)... and I can truly identify with this write.
Although I have not been keeping up to date with poems here, I've always enjoyed reading your work and I sincerely hope that you will be posting again soon....
You take care of yourself, Archie.....
Hugs
Jenni

As nature evolves through stages with the varing seasons, so too do people evolve and change with the different stages of their life. I'm not sure whether this is what you were alluding to or not. I hope you reasons for probably not posting for awhile are positive factors.

Well done on this write, Archie

Will
