my tel aviv

Topic: Nostalgic

My darling tel aviv
the roads all lead to nothing
the daylight is saving itself for tommorow

stepping through
the damp streets
the storelights keepin me awake
some let the headlights lead the way,
and dissapear without eyes

there was a girl there i am certain
But i guess the busses give and take
I wish i wouldve stayed a bit more by the curtains
and watch the city lye awake

listen to every breath
every heave
the ocean is whispering
and weeping at your bare feet,
my darling tel aviv.....

and all the boys they will claim you
and all the girls they will blame you
but i see you just the same
my tel aviv

And all the men they speak in numbers
for all the women,
undiscovered,
which bathe themselves in your desolation
to be found out in the street

looking to compete
tis a sweet deciet
how you lead them with such ease

and how they never found their way out
seems so doomful but somehow im certain
it is all with good intention that they need

and as the pheonix rises
the pigeons settle in the ash
the windows are all opened
and you could believe
that that night never existed
as a million fates are twisted
and all the stalls are lifted
and the people fill the streets

But its is written on the faces, as the shades are lifted
and the eyes make silent conversation and make peace

And the train is rolling
and i dont know where im going
but for a moment where ive been is all i need
untill i settle down and fall asleep
how ill miss your garden of concrete
forever never yours
my darling tel aviv
