A Wounded Spirit

The night was dark and cold, yet turn your eyes to the heavens and behold. Two spirits connecting, something is happening and now it’s coming to earth another life is being born. Hark, this life is forming, turning right into a man, but the scene is changing, and the view is about to span.
He is standing up to his full stature, only to see three women out in hell’s pasture. A smile is shown, as he pulls the best from his funny bone. Smiles turn into laughter as they pull out their bows, and shoot icy darts into his heart made of thin plaster.
He runs, and then he slows to a walk and beings to limp away. Years later still walking like a wounded soldier. He begins to teach his heart never to feel. Protecting his inward parts from life’s pain, yet he did not know that to fully heal, one must be able to feel.
Now walking at night, hiding in the shadows of fear, he won’t even shed one heart felt tear. Bearing a burdened he can’t share, you can see the arrowheads still burrowed into the depths of his soul. Unsure of the plot, not knowing his true destiny, he simply wanders to and fro each and everyday simply carrying a wounded spirit.

This touches I nerve.Closing myself down to love for years I refused to let someone have that kind of power over my emotions. I know now it was the biggest mistake of my life. |
