BABY ROBERT

Contributed by kangarose on Thursday, 30th January 2003 @ 03:43:27 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

He reaches out to you,
Trying with all his might to hold on to life,
He's only twenty months old,
How can he understand what is really going on?

He hasn't given up the fight for life,
For he has his parents, Paula and Mike,
They are right there by his side,
Every day and every night.

He looks into your eyes,
He can feel that something is wrong,
He can see it in your eyes,
When he looks for reassurance from you.

He can feel the love that abounds him,
From his mum and from his dad,
He sees tears in their eyes,
And wonders why they cry.

Its not cause they don't love him,
Its not cause they don't care,
Its the fear that abounds them,
Something they wish that they could stop.

They are afraid of losing a boy that is very dear,
A baby boy named Robert that brought them laughter and smiles.
From the day that he was born.

They say laughter is the best medicine of all,
I know not your pain and sorrow,
I have never come close to losing a child,
But please make that baby boy smile Paula and Mike,
Make that baby smile,
You never know it just may work,
Then your life will be full of that little boy named Robert,
Whom you hold so close to your heart,
I hope that little soldier comes home with you soon,
So you can have him to love and hold for always,
And be content within your selves.
