I looked upon the night sky,
as the gems of stars contrasted with it and the clarity of the moon.
A breeze fell upon my window pane
and awoke my face
to begin my path through the night.
a trail of rose petals entered my cell,
danced about in the air calling my attention.
I chuckled and said to night,
“Oh night, the crescent moon upon your sky will bring any audience to their feet with a round of applause, the stars that fill your despair can bring the dead to live just for one quick glance and the rose petals you have rewarded me can impress even the most finicky of brides but I stand here unimpressed because you can never compare to the beauty of my love.
