So many Goodbyes

I’m like a kid crying out for his father. I’m lost, lonely, scared, and not sure where to go. I remember Him looking into my eyes and searching my deepest most inward parts.
He reaches out His hands to me, but I’ve pulled back afraid that He would see. All the scares of my past built up in me forming one solid mass. A wall of rock now guards my heart’s door. Thoughts of him wander through my head at night, wondering if He will save me from this dreadful sight.
Can I ever break free from this bondage, or will I continue to embrace this sin. I’ve tried to escape in many ways, but bound in these heavy chains I sit. No good am I and of honor I am not fit.
This struggle that lies inside, only temporarily goes away when I close my eyes. When my breathing stops and my spirit flies, I will have only wished that in my youth I would have never said so many goodbyes.
