Protector of the Innocent

Contributed by Jilly on Thursday, 30th January 2003 @ 05:42:20 AM in AEST
Topic: mythology

You stand in the rain...
Your tears invisible
to those that do no know your heart
Your strength has them fooled
they do not know that you cry for them...
You cry for me...you cry for us
I feel your pain...
I see the wounds
of a thousand years of heartache
When I look into your eyes...
You do not know that I watch over you...
I am always in the shadows...
You are not granite and rock to me...
You stand at the gates of comfort...
Your arms folded...you hunch over us...
wanting to enfold us in your massive arms
Most walk by barely giving you a glance...
But I see your yearn to embrace...
To reassure...
You know what lies ahead...
yet you stand in silence...
Your desire is to be of assistance
To warn us of our paths...
Yet you stand in silence
I am still watching you...
Centuries will not change
my admiration of you...
I will be here...
I will stand with my sword drawn
in your shadow...
Just know that I am here
Though you will never see me...
I am here for you...
watching over the protector...
The guard of comfort and tranquillity
Have faith my friend...
Know now...
That I am greatful
