End of my tunnel

I always thought you
Were the light at the end of the tunnel,
But each step towards you
Was one in the wrong direction.
The light faded from my eyes
And darkness and sorrow consumed me;
Lonely and lost, you betrayed me.
You tried to bring me back,
Only to hurt me again with your lies.
Farther and farther the light came from my eyes.
I only sleep with tear-stained cheeks.
There is no rescue from my pain.
It took my pain for you to see
And I am left without sight,
Still stuck at the end of my tunnel
Without my light.
