She Melts Away

Slowly melting Winter reveals her dried bones
Papery flesh blows away in the March winds
Whipped up in the last of her storms
Attempt to dismay the winter weary
But her strength diminishes with the days
Passing ever closer to the Sun
Who is no lover with his flaming pride
And hot temper he sends her away
Down under the earth

Demeter's grief is our discontent - if you don't like Winter, that is (personally I love it). Raw but beautiful imagery. A bitter-sweet rendition of season and myth. Well written. Thanks for posting.
