Biting his lip, Holding back tears.
Glad he knew her, For all these years.
Memories flashing, Mind going wild.
It was hard for him, To fake a smile.
Watching her take, Her last few breaths.
Wishing it was him, Facing death.
He lost his best friend, with the blink of an eye.
Wish he could have, One last goodbye.
