Genesis

Contributed by eggflipper on Friday, 10th March 2006 @ 02:28:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Passions run high, emotions untamed.
A careless act taken by strife.
She made the terminal verdict,
excite with knife to steal the life.

Six months an unknown father,
eight months an unborn child.
What could have been never will.
An act of God decided by his knife.

She is disguised behind a hidden smile,
a smile to forget she lied.
One for one, death for life,
if only we could stay inside.

Her pains have been rested,
his pains begin to start.
Empty stomach his is filled
to the beat of an empty heart.

She gave up what she had,
their part of two equals zero.
A miracle stealing inadequacies,
leaves searching a fallen hero.

Great write, it gave me chills. I love the line "their part of two equal zeros"

Painful this was (and I'm sure IS), Shayne.
You have brought eloquence to a very sad and tragic
reality. With each write of yours I read, my respect
and admiration for you grows. Expertly done, my friend.
I don't know that I could have done this one as well
as you have. Impressed, am I.

This is beautiful, and sad. There's a lot of depth of maturity in how you now look at it, though. Thank you for this admission. It's of great worth.
