The Book of Life Part X

Contributed by NoSaint on Thursday, 9th March 2006 @ 10:31:50 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

This pit leads to the Dragons Liar
I still do not think it fair
That I so small and meek
Have to try to be strong when weak

But here I am armed with dart and heart
And this Dragon from my realm will depart
So enter into the Dragons home
I go with my weapons of stone

Sleeping deeply I see the beast
Enormous and fierce to say the least
I no longer can tears cry
I let out a very loud sigh

My mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dragon now awake!!!!!!
Fire he spews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not good news!!!

So I duck real low
His eyes start to glow
The jade dart I throw
My target is narrow

Hitting him in the eye
A spot on his chest I spy
There I run with the heart
Giving the Dragon a start

This quartz is pure love
From heavens above
It the evil dispels
The dragon is banished to hell

I gave up my tears
To end my peoples fears
I gave up my future
No children will I nurture

Now I give up my earthly life
For I am pulled apart by much strife
Turned to pure energy am I
So truly although my body did die

I will forever pure love be
Through Eternity
In the book
Of
Live

I have been away for a few days and missed the many parts of this, but since last night I have been catching up. Though I decided to only comment when this was over. I am currently in the process of copying each chapter to a file, so that I can read them as an entire piece without break.

This comment is on the reading with the breaks. I was captured by the story from the beginning, and was overwhelmed by the many levels it moved. The ending itself, an inspiration to any who read this. A well done, master work from an extremely talented poet whose work has cradled me from the first of hers I read.

I hope you dive into something epic, like this again. I am anxious to see something like this. Each chapter was a true poem unto itself, and together they make a grand painting of passion and courage.

My hats off to you on this major poetic accomplishment!

SUPERB!
