I have failed,
I have failed as a friend
and I have failed you in the relationship.
My heart is broken

knowing after all the words said
and all the games played,
I was the one who failed
As most of my kind does,
I became controlling,
All I wanted was you
I wasn't there when you needed me.
I couldn't help you with your problems,
because I was the only one.
Long nights,
away from what was important,
plagued the relationship.
You did what I had asked
but I continued my ways
now that we have split,
know that in a different time
we would have made it.
