The prophet of reason
walks on the jagged edge of twilight.
On the banks of misery,
strewn with the remains of lost hope
and the skeletons of dreams not realized.
He stumbles over confusion and madness.
Scorned by many,
he tries to make us realize, the value of hope and faith.
His message is cryptic,
so lost are we in the fog of self destruction and loathing.
His voice a whisper in our minds,
giving us the secrets to unlock the vault of truth and righteousness
and at times, it comes to us in a rush of clarity, his words of wisdom.
In the end the choices are ours to make,
and it is we that create our own destiny
and reason is sometimes left behind
as it battles against guilt and indecision.
And what is left , a life unfulfilled.

A good testament to wisdom and reason, something all too rare these days. They're excellent weights and compasses to poetry, though. Keep writing.

"Vanity of vanities, all is vanity!" Thank you for expressing that truth, seeking our own with our own intellect brings forth futility.

If you could somehow condense The metaphor and imagery of this poetic style, The result would be startling. Good prose, truly. |
