Lifepoems

Perplexingly blessed with a cynical mind,
Swirling about, far too critical thoughts are entwined.
Attempts to foresee the unforeseen, strange notions unfold,
Thoughts of a meaningless life, one whose tale goes untold.
It’s not that this mind’s perceptions are all so bleak,
But there’s confusion in my soul as to the path I wish to seek.
Whimsical thoughts of dedicating my life to the scripture,
But leading that life, not even my own mind can picture.
Been exposed to a lot, but not nearly enough,
Foolishly thinking, my life has been tough.
We’ve all seen tragedy, no matter how sheltered we’ve been
We’ve all made mistakes, all too frequently sin.
Coping with losses, dealing with strife,
These issues are in the forefront of this chary mans life.
It’s time to slow down; it’s time for reflection,
It’s time now to focus, attain some direction.
Where I end up, only the future will disclose,
There’ll be time in the end, for me to take my repose.
I just keep keeping on, through the highs and the lows,
Knowing inside me, my love of God grows.

"Been exposed to a lot, but not nearly enough"
Will never be enough, thats good thing about it, there will be more of good things as well. |
