Mirage De Amants

Contributed by themonk on Monday, 6th March 2006 @ 11:53:50 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Walking on this beach of fog,
The sun just peeking through
our sea.
I squint in search,
From a distance your misty figure can be seen.

From wave to wave seeping through
Our bay.
The will to keep still,
But my legs wont let me stay.
I approach, moving in eager steps,
With springs hope and summer's joy.
You step towards me in shy excitement.
Oh the life that pours from those eyes,
How they keep me alive.
I can see the smile I bring you,
A burning amber in my heart is lit
Within your name.

Embracing you as we intertwine,
As I hold your hips so close to mine.
Clutching with a thankful grip,
My lonely dock has met your ship.
And the anchors drop for eternity.

You have made my mountains move
And forced my soul to speak the truth.
Holding you for I wont let go,
Now seeing clear what's friend and foe.
My love is lodged securely in your heart,
And we both know, that this state of bliss
Shall forever grow.

The cool and crumble sand beneath
Our feet,
As my heart sings with yours in
Every beat.
The softly scent of roses on your cheek,
Offer me the peace I need.

My fingers interlace your hair,
Holding you with the dearest care.
Leaning in as I believe your lips.
Prepare my nerves to receive
This kiss.
But what I caught was only
Air.
And to my knees I withered,
If only you were really there.

Leaving this beach of fog,
Up through this broken path.
My sorrow steps, resemble how I feel.
Once again I frown,
Leaving me guessing for what is real.

Tempted by the figures in the fog,
But I dare not take this step again.

Beautiful piece - the hint of eroticism was very gracefully done, and the scene painted with enough emotion that the ending was a painful surprise. Good work! Keep at it.
