A Dream

There's a dagger
Three feet away from me.
I reach for it,
I see it getting closer to me
Or I am getting closer to it.
Suddenly it goes away and
I still see it in the distance.
I want it.
I run towards it,
I run as fast as I can and
I reach for it the second time.
I grab it.
I look at it and
I don't know why I took it.
I look at it again and try to feel it.
It's cold.
It's colder than a winter's night.
My hand freezes on it's hilt.
It turns red hot and
My hands have blisters now.
It is red hot and
I press it against my wrists.
Why?
I do not know
But the blade resists my will.
It will not cut.
It will NOT cut.
It vanishes from my hand.
I spend hours looking in vain
With my cold eyes.
I see a gun.
It's black.
It's right in my hand.
I look at it ,
I point it at my head.
But what am I doing?
Why am I doing this?
Is it because of my world?
Is it because of my fears? My sins?
What's driving me to this?
Is it a demonic power?
Is it divine intervention?
As I asked my questions
And no one answered
I pulled the trigger.
Nothing happened.I wonder why.
Perhaps I'm not to die yet,
Perhaps there's something
Keeping me on this world.
Is it God?
Is it the Devil?
Or is it life itself
That keeps Death away from me?
Who knows?
I do not know.
Or perhaps there's someone
I need to live for ,
Or perhaps there are others
Doing the same thing as me
And succeeding
And I was chosen to fail.
Either way , now
That I'm awake from this
Weird dream,
I'm happy ,
I'm happy that I have
Someone to live for.

I liked everything but the end. It doesn't seem to go. Most of it seems real and from the heart and the end seems like you're are afraid to put what you really feel. Like you're using dream as an excuse to put down some terrible and horrible things you were thinking. Things that in society are not okay. Everyone has that but when you get to the end and awake from the dream you are ready to go back to conventional society. If that was your intent then you did an excellent job. Sorry for the long post. Keep writing |
