The Past is Dead, The Future is Forever Waiting

If anything, I hope the past would just go away.
What's the worth of a dead dream, broken plans
when there's an entire world virgin to my touch?
I want to smile the next time my world falls apart
at the seems, because my time on this Earth isn't finished.
Isn't it cruel that we dwell on the worst of things?
Lost relationships and friends, memories,
sinking deep into our consciousness like a
rusty anchor, or a malicious storm that makes
you spend an initially beautiful July evening
in the living room in the dark, with the
shutters and the side door closed. Alone
with your thoughts with the sound of
moaning wood and struggling window panes
If only we could be stronger, and realize
that people leave our lives, no matter how
important they may be. Situations change,
people change. Consequently, your life is
changed. What if we took a moment to embrace
change. What if we can smile when somebody
tears us apart, because when you wake up
tomorrow morning it will be sunny and the sky will
crack open into a prognosticative blue
You know, July doesn't stay ugly very long.
