What Do You See?

Contributed by Kassidi on Friday, 26th July 2002 @ 03:51:54 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

When you look at me,
Tell the truth when I ask you,
What do you see?
Do you see just skin?
Do you judge how pretty I am?
Is it just flesh and bone to you?
Or will you look past all this,
And seek the real me who lies waiting within.

Why don’t you look in?
Look past all the imperfections and flaws,
And see more than just a girl,
See the person who lies within.

What do you see?
Do you see a girl with cancer?
Or just a regular girl?
If you look inside, not out,
What you may find out might surprise you,
So please give me a chance,
And look past everything,
Because inside you will find someone who cares.

This is a lovely poem Kassidi...unfortunately we miss out on meeting a lot of people by judging what we see not who we see...

Nice write Kassidi....If more of the world could see things like you it would be a far better place to live in.

Very profound piece Kassidi. You are so right too...if people never look beneath the surface, they will miss all the beauty that we are.
Take care,
Sherry
