In The Shadow of the Tiger

Contributed by thesinner on Friday, 3rd March 2006 @ 07:56:16 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Walking in the shadow of the tiger
we pray on each other
stalking the weak
and feasting on their suffering.
the tie that binds is our humanity, or is it our inhumanity
I'm still not sure.

Like the tiger, we wait with claws drawn
awaiting unsuspecting souls to cross our path
and in an instant, life becomes death
and the blood of the innocent is spilled.

So similar, yet worlds apart
the tiger and we.
Crossing the arid plains of our existence
like us he searches for his Eden.
As we build towers to the heavens
we applaud our accomplishments
and the tiger weeps at our ignorance.

And as our world disappears
the tiger roars in his frustration and despair
and we scramble to piece it back together
what we have destroyed
And the tiger bows his head in sorrow
knowing it's too late.
And as the hunter raises his sights
those tired yellow eyes look back in pity
for it seems we will never learn this lesson.

This poem is very nobel to say the least. An emotional monolith. Yes the tiger, strenght,
nobility, illusive, much we could learn from his humility. As for humanity? alot left 2 be desired. A most splendi peice of writting.
